Excellent vacation destination

Fantastic service with fantastic dining options conveniently located to actions. Excellent Myan entertainment series! The home is highly recommended with lovely pools, a superb spa, along with daily live entertainment.

These two events were enjoyable to perform. The experience of this sense of experience was rewarding and enabled one to trust your instincts. Though I never went Kayaking in my entire life, this adventure was enjoyable. Jonathan is a superb instructor.

All employees were friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating – they even told me about a cozumel coral reef restoration program tour for families. Check-in and check-out were a breeze, our area, though we spilled all over our bed daily, was immaculate each day once we returned.

I will also say that among the essential matters to us was having excellent water pressure in the shower, and we were not disappointed during our visit to Tres Rios. Rare to find such excellent food in any way restaurants around the property, and of course quite reasonably priced!

Enjoy and superb experience. On-premise activities are exceptional. The circus and Mayan Display on grounds are lovely. The on earth vendors have excellent quality merchandise. Purchased a chess set that was of outstanding quality, and the cost was fair.

The hotel is full of things to do; you do not have to go out. The staff is amiable and expressive.

While I shut my eyes and visit my “Happy Place” that is where I move, by the moment the shuttle pulls up into the Hacienda front porch I’m in your home; I let out a sigh and feel hot all over. One of my favorite times of every day is walking around the hotel early morning, until the majority of individuals are out, and revel in the fresh air, birds singing and the gorgeous landscaping… then to the Café to get a cup of espresso. I can not wait to return.

Loving The Palm at Playa

I celebrated my birthday here, and it was GREAT! The staff was awesome. I wanted to give a special thanks to Sandra Lopez in the concierge. She not only helped us with the booking of our trip to Tulum. She showed up at the departure point to make sure we had no issues! Thanks, Sandra, for going above and beyond!

We returned to The Palm because our first time there was fantastic, and we were not disappointed! Sandra, the concierge, & Miguel in reservations are excellent hosts who make you feel like family. Minerva & Manuel at the rooftop pool is also great!

The location is perfect, 1/2 block from 5th Avenue so we can walk everywhere. The Palm also offers all-inclusive daily, so we chose that option for one day. The food and drinks are perfect! Very comfortable, the immaculate room even with excellent service – one of the room service recommended me a go flyboard cozumel tour. We have stayed in other places in this area, but we will always return to The Palm.

We got there early and managed to snap such shots, for instance. Mon-Wed is quieter and cheaper. The food was amazing and excellent service from Minerva. Thanks for looking after us. Would recommend the hotel del camarón and they had a special offer with five tacos they give you two beers for free. Tacos cost 40mxn each.

They provide you with towels. As you leave the elevator to take a bed on the left-hand side of the pool as the shade is better and the sun comes over to that side. They didn’t have the octopus that was advertised on the menu but not a big issue.

The location is spot on, and the staff is all friendly and accommodating. Sandra, the tour manager, was accommodating and went above and beyond to make our experience even better. Amazing hotel! We will be back.

We rolled the dice with the Palms and won. Didn’t know where we were going to stay, did some research and booked a room last minute and we were MORE than pleased with the results. What a great hotel, very relaxing and chill yet right in the middle of all the action on 5th Ave in PDC. The hotel and room were very friendly, the apartment was excellent and well-appointed, spotless. The staff was 1st class and very accommodating.

Exceptional Place

The location was superb, parking available, customer support has been amicable, helpful staff. The place is extremely secure and in proximity to 5th Avenue. The site met and exceeded my expectations.

I booked my stay through Simona on Airbnb, and she was a fantastic host! We enjoyed our stay, and the condo was sparkling clean, air-conditioned, and decorated very well and comfy. It is at a very centralized and secure area, near the pubs, and there is a front desk staff that was very beneficial and could call us every time our transportation pulled up at the front part of the building. We’re treated with respect and with particular therapy, and that is the way vacations should be!

Concierge services were excellent and they give shore snorkeling in cozumel suggestions to try. They have been friendly, helpful, and always with a grin. Both were excellent. Rooms were bright, spacious, and spotless. The swimming pool is unique, surrounded by nature and quiet, though the road is very close. It’s near 5th Avenue, stores and plenty of outstanding restaurants.

This location is what we were looking for a Playa Del Carmen. The condo/hotel was enormous, clean, modern, and like home. They even provided us with a bottle of water. Everything worked as it should have, such as the wifi. The staff was kind and attentive.

We stayed in a garden bungalow that was very clean, spacious and private with a beautiful outside veranda. The staff was excellent and very friendly. Would certainly recommend.

What a great spot to stay. We reserved the bungalow apartment. Perfect. Hammocks, silent, peaceful, and so tropical. Great rooms. Comphy king mattress. And we can cook for ourselves when we need it. I would certainly recommend this place.

Besides seeing Cancun, this is the bomb! Perfect hospitality, fantastic location, lovely accommodations! We relaxed very nicely here. Kitchen and bath were top-notches, and the 2nd story deck with amazing insides and tropical sounds was fantastic. Right in the heart of it yet you’d never understand it — most exceptional calm place. Thanks again; we will be back!

Perfect location

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Newport House. The location was perfect one street back from 5th Avenue and also the start of 5th. It is a quieter end of town which we enjoyed as our base. We tried a few of the restaurant suggestions, and in particular, the Italian restaurant was fantastic.

There is a convenience store across the street and a patisserie just down the road, which was great to get coffee and breakfast supplies to cook in the great little kitchen. Our apartment also had a washer and dryer, which was very helpful after traveling for two weeks prior. The apartments are serviced daily and are spotlessly clean.

Extremely comfortable beds and no noise was heard from any surrounding areas. The front desk staff is amiable and helpful with any requests like the helmet diving cozumel recommendations. The rooftop pool is a great little oasis with a lovely breeze, and you pretty much have it all to yourself. We felt totally safe during our stay. I can highly recommend Newport House to any future travelers.

This was an excellent place to stay! The staff was accommodating, the complimentary bikes were so useful, and the location was perfect if you are looking to be close to everything! Extremely happy with everything!

Playa del Carmen underwhelmed us when we visited, but Newport Hotel was a beautiful respite in the hectic touristy town of PDC. We loved the interiors and all the amenities they offer but most of all, I think their best advantage is their reception staff.

Vianney is one of the best reception staff we have ever met in all of our travels! Ten minutes away by bicycle to the town. Safe location and beautiful, big rooms. Very strategic location, the price is right as well. From ADO bus terminal, it is 120 Mexican Pesos.

New, beautiful apartment in a great location. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed – french press coffee maker – my fav, new appliances including a washer and dryer, comfy bed, pillows, and two balconies. The rooftop pool offers a relaxing retreat, as well. 5th avenue shops, bars, and restaurants are close but not so tight that you hear the noise. The beach is less than a 10-minute walk. They have loaner bikes that make exploring even more comfortable. The staff is friendly and accommodating.

Another great week

We always enjoy our trip to Cozumel! We can never say enough on the excellent service we get from Juan Carlos, bell boy. He goes out of his way for us every time. We talked to Juan about a local pork favorite, Lachone. The next thing we knew, he was bringing us some to try on our last day!

It was awesome! Ironman Mario always makes us feel welcome with a sincere hug for each one of us. Our favorite bartenders are Alfredo, Rigo, and Marino! They serve some fast and flavorful drinks!

We are still in the airport about to depart Cozumel. Our stay was from June 1-8, 2019. My wife and I, our teenagers and our two older children with spouses and one 11-month-old grandchild and friends all came. My wife and I and our two teenagers somehow reserved a family suite that was actually two rooms with a connecting door.

Our cleaning staff was excellent. One of them told me about the riviera maya fishing charters if we wanted a great fishing experience here. Our refrigerator stocking staff provided more than expected water and drinks every day. All the entertainment, bar, and wait staff were very friendly and accommodating. We made friends with all of them. We enjoyed swimming in two pools. The immediate shore is sand but quickly becomes rocky, so water shoes are required. We snorkeled several times each day, which is our favorite activity.

I’ll post pictures of the underwater sea life we encountered. I used AKASO EK7000. I used the Spa for a 50-minute hydro spa and a 50-minute Swedish massage for a promotional rate of $139 (no timeshare tour required), which was terrific. The food was typical budget resort food which we are just fine with. We were able to watch the NBA Finals in our rooms or at the lobby bar. The weather was perfect, and the water was still and calm as I expected for Cozumel, which was our 6th trip to Cozumel.

I didn’t realize it at booking, but we had been to this resort previously in 2009. It was a Wyndham at that time, I believe. Just be aware that individual staffers will want to offer you a “resort benefits” meeting in which they will want to provide you with a discounted opportunity to an excursion or rental which will require a timeshare tour of their adjacent “Secrets” property. These staffers are skilled at leading you into these conversations.

We abruptly avoid these people and do not engage even slightly in these conversations because we have found it almost impossible to get out of these conversations. We want to give a shout out to Abbey, Crystal, Hector, Angel, Rozanna, Austin and so many, many others that we enjoyed in the hotel.

Exactly what we were looking for

This hotel was perfect for our dive trip. Nothing super fancy but immaculate, good food and great drinks. Our waiter Jesus Alejandro took great care of us and really made our trip fun. We will be coming back for many more visits.

This is the second time we have stayed here, this time our friends joined us. We stayed three nights and went diving two mornings, we ended up doing the all-inclusive package, which was a hell of a deal. Rooms are clean and big, bottled water on every floor so you can refill your bottles throughout the day.

The foods high, buffet breakfast but two days there wasn’t a lot of guests, so we ordered off the menu, super friendly, and helpful staff – they recommended the snorkeling riviera maya tours for the family. For the price and the location, I’m not sure you can beat it, great pool and a bridge across the road to the beach and the dive shop.

We have been to Cozumel four times, and this is our first experience diving with as Del Mar, dive boats, big, beautiful, fast, reliable which most dive sites are an hour away, so this is important.

The dive masters are a little more mature, which I really liked they seemed to take their jobs seriously, we had excellent care and attention, super helpful. I can not say enough good things about our trip, excellent service, and care. I can not comment on the rental gear as we have all our own stuff, but I didn’t see any old equipment about, so I will assume it’s good stuff.

This is a great hotel and dive shop which is eco-friendly from the organic soap and shampoos to no straws and LED lights. The dive shop owner has even restrung a coral reef off the dock. Very reasonably priced rooms and meal plan. Located close to downtown and numerous restaurants.

Pool, bar, and restaurant all good for a hotel this price range, the elevated walkway to the dive center was great, no playing dodge traffic crossing the street before and after dives. Overall, My expectations were well exceeded for a hotel in this price range, I have already booked my return and plan to return 4 to 6 times a year.

Excellent place

It had been improved by friendly, helpful staff and a fantastic environment to put aside your actual world anxieties. Many actions included or simple to include on.

Even a small and charming hotel 16 km south of the city. The rooms are comfy, with hammocks on balconies, mini-fridge, bath, walk-in cupboard. There’s housekeeping each day, plus they replenish the refrigerator with water and other beverages. We heard about some discover scuba diving cozumel tours for rookies, so we might try that later.

The gardens are well manicured; there are a few iguanas on the yard. We loved the shore — rows of palm trees and crystal clear water, much more profound than 2.5 m at the observed area, and a lot of fish to see. Beautiful sunsets, also! Beach towels are supplied, and you may swap them frequently for new ones.

Additionally, there are showers on the beach. We did not utilize some of these pools, but they’re well maintained, clean, and matches are organized daily. The food has been excellent — lots of alternatives for everybody — fish in the pub was fresh and flavorful, a lot of salsas, ceviche, fresh veggies, in addition to barbecue meats.

There’s live entertainment every night in the theatre or by the swimming pool. That is undoubtedly a location we’re contemplating to come back to!

This resort is excellent if you’re seeking to bring friends or family, immaculate resort & fantastic entertainment! The food is excellent and does not neglect the opinion.

We left there now. The beach was terrific, and the diving was fantastic. The water was quite clear and warm. The staff at this hotel were beautiful. I met him on our very first day there. I said I wanted we’d beer and mimosas from the Santa Rosa area and he actually listened. We had it each day afterward. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

Amazing resort

Update to the Royal level, and your own will be blown off with the additional perks and assistance. You have to eat in the excellent buffet for bar members and Royal decree on the shore daily or enjoy your own personal restaurant, La Corretta for breakfast, dinner or lunch. You get first selections for dinner reservations in restaurants.

They maintain the reservation amounts low for excellent service so reserve once you arrive. Fantastic staff. No demand for the water shoes in this hotel. Gardens and shows were so beautiful. Our only criticism is that we needed to return home following the most relaxing and intimate week and a couple of pounds heavier.

Highly suggest the private dinner on the shore for the excess cash. Anything we wanted that the staff did their very best to adapt quickly and into the best of the ability. The restaurant server recommended us a cozumel taxi tour if we wanted to see all the island.

We’ve stayed here 7 days today, and are impressed every time we encounter. I advise you to read my other reviews through time, plenty of excellent advice.
Should you seek reasons to enjoy your holiday, then you’ll see plenty here!!! I leave my two pennies worth this opportunity to say Thank you to all of the staff there which make our stay so relaxing and pleasurable year in, year out.

A particular thank you for the next – Nadia – you try your best to deal with our requests before coming and while we’re there. Jesus – Your really great soul and soul puts a grin on everyone face, old and young. Santos – Your type of nature and attention to detail sets you apart.

To the 2 women who run the royal pub workplace, sorry I forgot your titles, but won’t forget your help with anything we wanted.

The house is incredibly kept and lovely. The activities throughout the day and the night entertainment were exceptional, aggressive, and fun. The waitstaff for lunch and breakfast were personable and professional – particularly Crystal and Gabriella. But the real prize goes into Raina – most exceptional beach bartender in history! She was always fast, had a terrific memory, made us try new things, and continuously delighted! She’s an excellent asset to this hotel.

Great family resort

Beautiful resort and facilities. The food was excellent and a tasty variety each day. The staff was amiable and helpful. Overall pleasant first stay on Cozumel. Be prepared to pay extra for WIFI, and this is a little expensive.

We had an excellent trip again to El Cid La Ceiba Beach Hotel in Cozumel. Our accommodations were more than we expected. All the staff at El Cid worked very hard to make us feel at home. Vickie Dzib always makes us feel at home recommending great activities like the cozumel jeep tour near us. Along with Jorge, Crisantos, Esther, Roberto, and all the staff. We love the time we get to spend with them at our second home. Thanks to them, our vacation was excellent!

We had the pleasure of enjoying El Cid hotel and playing volleyball on sand and in the pool with these two. We had more fun with these two hosts several events we paid for before or after. For 2-3 hours it was great humor, very warm and welcoming and quite competitive. My daughters and wife got in on the games, and they’ve made one of our favorite memories from the entire week-long trip. Gracias amigos! We’ll be back hopefully soon.

Without a doubt, one of our favorite dive resorts in Cozumel. Juan Carlos and his team run a great onsite dive shop. El Cid is a beautiful resort that makes you feel like you’ve come home to your family in Mexico.

The water is beautiful and bright; we snorkeled right off the hotel dock/beach. We saw tons of sea life and had a blast. You can rent snorkel gear there (for a speedy price) and even book dive excursions leaving directly from the hotel dock.

There is a small beach area at the hotel that leads directly into the water and then there are 2 other man made beach/sandy areas with lawn chairs. The actual beach is sandy, but as you move into the water, it gets rocky. It didn’t bother us at all, but it was a tiny space.

Shoutout to Jose at the front desk of the hotel! He was excellent and so kind! He helped us out, gave us tips and great conversation. Janet at breakfast was also, and Christian was the man for hooking us up with drinks at the bar/restaurant. Thanks, guys!

One of the Best Resorts we have ever stayed at

We stayed at Secrets six months before this trip just down the road. We’re pampered and spoiled.

Highly suggest the private dinner on the shore. The Royal amount was well worth the perks and updates. Fantastic for love. In spite of all the households, it was silent and intimate. The shore has excellent snorkeling and no stones. Perfect trip.

This is undoubtedly among the best vacations we’ve ever needed, we’ll defiantly go back to Cozumel and will be staying in the Royal degree at Occidental Cozumel. I honestly can not say enough about the team and the center for us it was fantastic that they mentioned the el cielo cozumel tours for our family. The Resort is tidy very relaxing and a holiday place, it is possible to eat as much or as little as you would enjoy enjoying the private beach, or among the beautiful pools that this area Id made an impression on us everybody treated us with a Royal degree anytime we wanted anything.

Very comfortable vacation place. Away from your cruise bands nevertheless close enough to cab to the city and explore the island. The hotel was spacious and supplied decent food, actions, and beaches/pools. I have to admit, we engaged in many dives every day and did not make the most of that was provided.

As always, support is fantastic. Emma in the front desk is accommodating and fulfilled all of our requests. Lunch and breakfast are lovely, particularly the grilled salmon. The dinners didn’t measure up to previous decades. I’d looked forward into the fish soup, but this season it had been clean and not full of all the variety of fish as it was in previous decades. 1 shrimp and one part of octopus was reasonably sparse.

The wait staff in La Carreta has been friendly, considerate, as well as excellent. Another 3 restaurants that are available to most Occidental guests keep functioning food. The beef tenderloin and garlic shrimp in the Sonora were particularly attractive.

The sole drawback to this Sonora was that the sound level. It was quite loud and not conducive to dialogue. Water and coffee were always replaced. The only real mistake was that the refrigerator wasn’t restocked with beverages and snacks.
